Nine

Paul is panting by the time his friend spills his load inside his wife. It’s agony to watch. But also impossibly compelling when, with a grunt and one well-timed thrust of his hips, his pal has his wife coming so hard that she can’t even hold herself upright any longer.

Moaning, she falls against Tyler, her mouth covering his, and he thinks that’s the worst part of this. At least after the heat and urgency passes. Her climax done and waning, the sight of her lips lingering on his has to be his worst suffering of all.

He guesses he deserves it, though. He scoffs, and rightly so when there’s really no guessing about that at all. Every moment of this anguish has been earned. And the misery of knowing that Penny has never felt this level of heat with him just about kills him as she turns eyes on him.

“Is that it?” she murmurs, climbing off Tyler and padding across the carpet towards him. “You said I should have sex with someone else, and I did it. Am I fixed now? Are we fixed?”

It’s hardly what he expects her to say, and it seems a little soon to say yes. But a man can dream. Especially when the woman he loves is looking at him the way she’s looking at him now. Pupils enlarged. A slow, sexy smile spilling onto her lips. A sense of fulfilment and hope brimming in her eyes. She looks divine, and the way she’s staring at him now fills him with so much hope that he almost daren’t believe she is over this. Just in case she isn’t.

“Fixed?” he repeats, a blast of unexpected nausea twisting inside his stomach at the idea of that being true. “I don’t think that’s fair. You weren’t broken baby. You were just hurt. I hurt you. I know it’s all my fault.”

But her not being plagued by what he did was what he hoped to get out of this. Her to look at him and see him. Just him. Diane gone and memories of what he did forgotten. But how this has actually worked out?

Shit.

Now he’s looking at her and all he can see is Tyler. Tyler and her. Her body riding his. Her tits bouncing. Slow, sexy moans tumbling over her lips. He laughs. Kind of. Honestly, he shouldn’t feel too sorry for himself because he doubts this turn of events is going to create the same kind of difficulties for him as it did her—gut wrenching agony aside. And he knows that because he’s picturing his wife on Tyler’s dick and his only real problem is how hard he is.

And that’s wrong of him, right? To like that as much as he does. It’s confusing. And not what he was aiming for when he suggested this. But should he worry about it? Does he need to when actually Penny doesn’t seem upset by it at all?

“Baby,” he says, moving the last few inches towards her but stopping short of actually touching her.
